Workations: Can you really mix business and pleasure?

Work + vacation = workation
If you’d have asked us two years ago if we’d want to take a working holiday (workation or workcation), our answer would have been no. We wanted to keep work separate from our day-to-day, but given that work has blurred into life more and more, it makes sense that, rather than making life fit in around work, we instead make work fit in around life.
There are dozens of reasons to take a workation. For instance, productivity and creativity increase dramatically when you’re exposed to nature, and research shows that spending time surrounded by trees can increase your concentration and focus.
As well as the benefits for your professional side, you’ll feel more relaxed and gain extra perspective. There’s nothing better than waking up by the sea, taking a stroll along the beach with a coffee as the sun rises, before an efficient day at your desk, with the ability to switch off fully at the end of your working day. Another perk is that the daily irritations of housework, paperwork and general life admin aren’t at hand, giving you the space to be present.
With this in mind, here’s a round-up of our favourite seven workations in Germany, all of which have wifi and space to both work and play.
