Julia grew up visiting this ancient farmhouse regularly as a child, playing in the garden with her grandmother Anna. The house is full of happy memories, laugher and love. Julia and her husband Micheal inherited the farmhouse, and raised their three children in it. Luckily for us, their children have left the nest, and Allgäu Farmhouse has been opened as a guest house offering that family warmth in the most stunning surroundings.
The three bedrooms have been named after Julia’s children - Anna, Oskar and Selma - and have a beautiful Bavarian simplicity, blending modern interiors with old family furniture, but each is completely individual. Breakfast is a delight, and - in our opinion - best enjoyed from the roof terrace so you can take in the view across the meadows (and the neighbour’s cows) and river at the back of the house. Food is based on the slow food movement, and all produce is locally and organically sourced. It’s also a chance to get tips from Julia about what to do in the region, which is not as crowded as other parts of the Allgäu. Spend your days hiking, biking or swimming, happy in the knowledge you get to curl up in this home with heart.
