WHAT?
Let’s be honest: if you’re taking a trip to Bavaria, the chances are you’re dreaming of a spoiling mountain hut made of wood - with a fireplace and cosy bedrooms - that offers a chance for you to completely wind down while also being perfectly located to explore. Happily, Mühle 10 offers this and more.
Once the family home of Pamela and Michael, this stunning wooden house beautifully combines minimalist design with bare wood: think mountain hut meets modern loft. As soon as you enter the space, your mind begins to slow down. It’s proven that nature - especially trees - are good for our bodies, and after a stay at Mühle 10, you’ll feel the restorative effects first hand. Modern design pieces are carefully positioned through the bright space, and the house’s sustainable architecture is a marvel, having been built without glue. If you can tear yourself away from the house, you’ll find yourself positioned to explore both Munich and Bavaria’s incredible Alps, but that’s a big if!

- To really make the most of the area, you need a car
- Like a mountain hut, you need to burn wood to warm the water, which some might find frustrating first thing in the morning (we think it’s charming!)

Pamela and Michael’s insider tips
- Spend a day by one of the incredible mountain lakes: Chiemsee, Starnberger See, Ammersee, Schliersee and Tegernsee are all less than an hour’s drive away.
- Wildpark Poing is nearby and is a great place for a walk (especially if you have kids). There are animals such as lynx, bison and wolves.
- Ebersberger Forst is a beautiful forest, and we love taking long walks there, finishing with a beer in the Forsthaus Hubertus.
- If you’ve not done so before, you should spend a day exploring Munich by bike! Cycle along the River Isar, stop off at museums and stop for Kaffee und Kuchen in the English Garden.

THE
ESSENTIALS
- Sleeping arrangements: There are two double bedrooms and one single bedroom on the upper floor.
- Bathroom set up: On the ground floor, there’s a shower-only bathroom. The water must be heated using the wood-burning stove (same as through the rest of the house). Toiletries are provided.
- Food: There’s a fully-equipped kitchen, and basic ingredients and supplies (salt, pepper, oil, tea, coffee, washing-up liquid) are provided. There is a supermarket and a bakery a short walk away.
- For families: Families are more than welcome and there’s a high chair available, as well as toys and games.
- On-site equipment: There’s an extensive library, board games, high-quality (wooden) toys and board games, and Netflix access.
- Help: Pamela and Michael are always reachable should you need them.
- Remember to pack: Nothing.
- Pets: Not allowed.
- Sustainability: Only ecological timber was used in the construction process (reclaimed where possible), and other building materials, such as glass, clay, linen and concrete, were also all sustainably sourced. The house is self-heating, and minimal plastic has been used. Cleaning products are made from natural ingredients, and Pamela and Michael are privately involved in the nature conservation and Animal Protection Association.
- Need to know: there’s a 3-night minimum stay.
WHERE?
Mühle 10 is located in Anzing, Bavaria.
You can easily drive, and there’s onsite parking.
You can get public transport to S-Bahn Poing (trains from Munich), then take the bus to Anzing, alternatively take the 9410 bus directly from Ostbahnhof (Munich) to Tankstelle Anzing.
